Lab for Translational Bioanalysis & Engineering
Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida
We are a team of students and postdocs with diverse academic background in chemistry, engineering, and biology. We are passionate about multidisciplinary research to pursuit and translate scientific discoveries and technical innovations into the advances in precision medicine.
Immediate Postdoc Opening:
A postdoc position is immediately open in our lab to develop novel micro/nanotechnologies for ultrasensitive exosome analysis for cancer diagnosis. Contact us if you are interested.
Analytical Sciences
Our studies draw on chemistry, microfluidics, nanomaterials, and bioengineering to develop innovative lab-on-a-chip technologies and microrobotic systems that afford new capabilities for quantitative analysis of complex chemical and biological processes.
Biology
Cells secrete tiny membrnous extracellular vesicles (EVs), including exosomes of 30-150 nm in sizes, which mediate intercellular communication in diverse biological and pathological processes by transferring a subset of molecules from the cell of origin, such as proteins and RNAs. Collaborating with other labs, we will adapt our new technologies to better elucidate the biochemical properties and pathological roles of EVs in disease, such as cancer.
Translational medicine
We bring our technologies and knowledge to address the challenges in the clinical utilities of liquid biopsy, including extracellular vesicles, as non-invasive modalities for early diagnosis, monitoring, and therapeutic treatment of cancer and Alzheimer's Disease.
